On Maternal Health Awareness Day, let's highlight the hurdles women face in accessing maternal care. Immediate postpartum months are critical for health, yet some states lack full-year Medicaid coverage as recommended by The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Disturbingly, CDC data shows higher maternal mortality rates among Black and American Indian/Alaska Native women, emphasizing the urgent need for equitable healthcare.
