Program Spotlight: Enrollment Services Helping Southern Alameda County Residents Keep Health Coverage
Access to health coverage helps individuals and families receive preventive care, manage chronic conditions, and get healthcare when they need it most. As federal healthcare policies continue to evolve under H.R. 1, many people may face new eligibility, renewal, and reporting requirements that could put their health coverage at risk if they are unaware of the changes.
This program spotlight highlights Bay Area Community Health's Enrollment Services work in Southern Alameda County. Through our partnership with the Health Program of Alameda County (HealthPAC), our team helps eligible Southern Alameda County residents enroll in and renew Medi-Cal and HealthPAC coverage, ensuring they remain connected to the healthcare services they need. HealthPAC provides healthcare coverage for eligible low-income Alameda County residents who do not qualify for other insurance options.
Our proactive outreach efforts are helping connect patients with health coverage resources. During the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026 (April–June), Bay Area Community Health completed at least one outreach attempt to 100% of patients identified on the Alameda Health Consortium (AHC) outreach roster for Southern Alameda County, meeting the program's outreach requirement. We also exceeded our annual enrollment goals, completing 505 HealthPAC enrollments and renewals (123% of goal) and 942 Medi-Cal enrollments and renewals (220% of goal).
As healthcare requirements continue to change, Bay Area Community Health remains committed to helping Southern Alameda County residents understand their options, maintain their health coverage, and access quality care. By reducing barriers to enrollment and providing personalized assistance, we are helping more individuals and families stay covered, stay healthy, and continue receiving the care they deserve.
