Bay Area Community Health and Sutter Health Join Forces for Life-Saving Mammogram Screenings

Bay Area Community Health is proud to partner once more with Sutter Health in bringing much-needed mammogram screenings into our community. This ongoing collaboration underscores our commitment to providing accessible and preventive healthcare services, especially for underserved populations who may face barriers to accessing regular screenings.

Regular mammograms are an effective way of early detection, as most often this is the only method by which breast cancer can be found in its earliest stage, a stage at which successful treatment can be ensured. Indeed, early detection saves lives and minimizes treatment impact for better outcomes and options. Our collaboration with Sutter Health capitalized on enabling further access to such a critical service for more women in our community.

We recently hosted a screening event on October 15, 2024, during which the Sutter Health mobile van was stationed at our Liberty Clinic. Events were available only to members of the Alameda Alliance Health Plan. The eligible patients who underwent mammogram screenings were incentivized with a $25 Target Gift Card to motivate them to take better health care.

Linde Chea, BACH Program Manager for Women's Health, stated her appreciation for the collaboration: "I am grateful for the partnership we have with Sutter Health and Alameda Alliance Health Plan for making it easy for patients to get their mammogram screenings done at Liberty Clinic. Several patients are grateful for this free screening service and complimented that BACH providers and staff are so friendly and caring."

Nathalia Moncada BACH Community Health Worker shared, "Being frontline staff entails being the first face they see, and with that comes making sure the patient feels welcomed and comfortable as they come for their appointment. I like being able to connect with patients and hear their stories, all while being able to provide them with further information, so we are better able to assist them."

If you are an Alameda Alliance Health Plan member, please reach out to us directly regarding notification of future opportunities to get screened. We continue to look forward to more opportunities to collaborate with Sutter Health in service to the community with accessible healthcare
