In 2020, Tri-City Health Center (TCHC) reached an incredible milestone as it celebrates 50 years providing quality healthcare to uninsured and underserved families in Fremont and the surrounding tri-city areas. Founded in 1970, TCHC started in Newark as a family clinic for low-income minority women living in southern Alameda County.
In 2003, TCHC became a Federally Qualified Health Center and offered comprehensive health care for the entire family through 10 sites, including eight Fremont-based clinics, a dental site, and five mobile clinics. TCHC’s capable, committed, and caring staff spoke 21 languages and provided outstanding healthcare to a richly diverse population regardless of its ability to pay. TCHC’s key areas of focus included Medical, Dental, Vision, and Behavioral Health and offered specialized care including acupuncture, chiropractic, and podiatry.
As Dr. Zettie D. Page III, Chief Executive Officer at Bay Area Community Health, so aptly stated about TCHC’s goal, “…we look forward to being our community’s first place to look when finding the best care for themselves and their families. We are a place for guidance, sincerity and care, while being a proud beacon of the Fremont community.”
This TCHC commitment to quality health care continues as Bay Area Community Health.
